 Centre Parcs Facebook Scam are scam Facebook page that offers you the chance to win getaways worth more than £2,000.  It is a fraudulent Facebook page that has been setting up a bogus competition for Brits to win a free stay at Center Parc’s Longleat resort in Warminster.

Posts from the pages both follow the same format, telling users that all they need to do is ‘like’, ‘comment’ and ‘sign up’ in order to be entered into the giveaway. These sophisticated scams use images and branding taken from official websites to create the illusion of authenticity. 

Once you click on the sign up option at the top of the page are taken to a broken website with no competition details. 

Fake Facebook pages are sometimes set up to trick people into handing over their personal details, which can then be used by scammers to commit a fraud against you or gain access to your bank accounts.

A spokesperson for Center Parcs said: “Like a lot of well-known brands, our brand name has been used without permission by unauthorised Facebook pages on a number of occasions. 

“We have been made aware of an unauthorised page on Facebook offering the chance to win a Center Parcs break and can confirm this is not genuine. We have reported this to Facebook.”

To be on the safer side, Social media Users should be wary of clicking on links and inputting their passwords online except it is an official page. Do not click on links as this is the fastest and easiest way to get your account hacked, Use a strong Password too, and once you notice you have clicked on any suspicious websites, quickly go to your settings and change your password to a stronger one. It is also important to turn on two-factor authentication in your settings for added security.
