What is Apple Id Email

Apple Id Email are fraudulent phishing spam mails sent by scammers to get your personal information so they can use it to scam you. The scam emails are disguised as an official email from Apple. You will have an Apple ID if you have registered to use iTunes or many other Apple products. You don’t need to own an Apple iPhone or Mac to have an Apple ID. The phishing email looks official and can come in different types like, “Update your Apple ID account”. Other known subject lines include: “Please update your Apple ID”, “Please verify the email address associated with your Apple ID”, and “Your Apple ID has been Disabled for Security Reasons”. Similar versions could also talk about iTunes. The emails also comes with a link, however these are links created by the scammers to obtain personal information from unsuspecting people. The link however links to other phishing websites that trick victims and also hacks their personal information.

The link could be a malware trap. Malware infections occur when a user accidently or unknowingly takes an action that allows harmful code to be downloaded on their device. Clicking on a phishing link is a common way for your computer to get infected with malware. However when one clicks on the links they inadvertently send their information to the scammers who uses it fraudulently.

The Emails has button/link presented in them and these redirect to a phishing website disguised as an Apple page. This webpage requests users to sign in to your account. Phishing content operates by recording the information entered into it. Hence, by trusting the “Apple” scam emails – users can have their Apple Id stolen. This in turn, can result in privacy issues and significant financial losses

Apple Id Scam Mail Format

The Apple Id scam mail usually comes in this format,

  • “This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons.”
  • “You can’t sign in because your account was disabled for security reasons.”
  • “This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons.”

The fake Apple website looks nearly 100% identical to the genuine one. Please take a look at the web address carefully –  If an address other than [email protected] ever sends you anything about your Apple ID, there’s a good chance it’s a scam. These files can be in various formats, e.g., Microsoft Office and PDF documents, archives (ZIP, RAR, etc.), executables (.exe, .run, etc.), JavaScript, and so on. Upon being opened, infectious files trigger malware download/installation. It is advised against opening suspicious and irrelevant emails. The attachments and links present in these letters – must not be opened, as they can cause system infections.
