Accutech hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members who suffered from out-of-pocket expenses due to the data breach can recover compensation. 

The settlement allows for up to $325 for bank fees, communication charges, travel costs, document fees, credit expenses and up to three hours of lost time at a rate of $20 per hour.

The settlement benefits consumers who received a notice from Accutech that their personal information may have been exposed as a result of a data breach Aug. 16, 2021.

The settlement also allows for up to $5,000 for extraordinary unreimbursed, documented monetary losses resulting from fraud or identity theft. 

All class members can receive two years of free identity protection services through TransUnion’s myTrueIdentity.
