1 thought on “Do Not Fall Victim To Moodmelbourne.com Scam Fashion Store!”

  1. I really wish I had seen looked for reviews before purchasing from “Mood Melbourne”. There are a couple of retailers I buy from online that are based in Melbourne and I thought this would be similar. I bought two pairs of sandals for $100 so they were cheap, but not ‘red flag’ cheap.

My experience so far is that a) there was no indication that this was not an Australian-based business, despite the name, so I made that assumption. I was willing to take a risk on the purchase because it said you could get a refund for any reason, but you just had to pay return postage. I thought this would be a domestic order, so not too slow to arrive, not too expensive to return, and not too hard to communicate with. I was wrong in those assumptions. Once I received my tracking number, I realised it was an international order and it took weeks to arrive.
    b) the shoes arrived and were very disappointing. The quality was poor and I wouldn’t have paid $10 a pair for them, let alone $50. The sizing was small but even if they had fit, I would not wear them at all. The stitching didn’t line up, the feel of the product was so cheap that I honestly don’t think they’d even last a single day of wear.
    c) I followed the directions to get in touch to arrange a refund. The first email was one trying to persuade me to exchange instead, but by keeping the current ones, and just paying a “restock” fee and postage for the replacements. They said to let them know how I’d like to proceed. I replied and confirmed I wanted to return them for a refund, and asked them for the instructions of how to do so.
    d) I waited several days and emailed again to reiterate I wanted a refund and they came back fairly quickly this time, telling me that they don’t normally do this but they suggested I keep the shoes and they could provide a 25% refund, you know, to save the environment and all that…
    e) I replied and reiterated again that I had no use for the shoes as they did not fit, and they were of such poor quality that I would not sell them or give them away as one of their emails had suggested. I asked again for the return details ASAP.

And that’s where it currently stands. I note there is a 30 day limit for returns so I’m not sure if they’re dragging it out and then going to say it’s too late (which I would argue against but in the end, what could I do?). I Googled to see what city they came from (the parcel was re-badged along the way so the sender’s address is in Sydney but that’s just a distributor I guess) and I couldn’t even find that. I had wanted to know roughly what return postage would cost. I feel really silly now and hope my credit card doesn’t get defrauded now because I live on a tight budget and having it maxed out or having to have it unavailable for a while would be a problem for me.
